Ingredients
- 3 cups Sugar
- 3 sticks Butters, softened
- 5 Eggs
- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
- ½ cup Cocoa Powder
- 3 oz. unsweetened Chocolate, melted
- 1¼ cups Buttermilk
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F
- Cream together sugar and butter.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- Sift flour 3 times and add gradually.
- Add cocoa powder, melted chocolate, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly.
- Butter a bundt or angel cake tube pan and pour the batter in. Bake for about 1hr and 15 min or 20 min.
- While cake is cooling, add all ingredients to a sauce pan on medium heat.
- Stir constantly until mixture reaches 230°F soft ball stage.
- Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.
- Beat mixture until it begins to thicken.
- Pour onto cool cake.
